Noted for his meticulous craftsmanship, Ulises “Rene” Palomino began his career as an artist after 22 years as a seasoned professional frame maker. His custom frame profiles hang in art collections around the world including hotels in Dubai, commercial buildings, medical facilities and private art collections. Surrounded by artists, it was a natural transition for Rene to create works of art out of the materials found around his frame studio.
The artist has no preferred medium with which to create; rather he rotates between various substrates such as wood, metal, plexiglassand canvas. The artist lives and works in Phoenix, Arizona. As a young man growing up in the small village of Michoacan in Mexico, Rene began to cultivate his creative mind at a young age. He recalls playful years surrounded by lush greenery and has had a lifetime love of using his hands to build things.
Through his years of success, it is his daughter Adriana Palomino that he considers his greatest Gift. He finds great inspiration within her wonder, creativity and playfulness.
